Project Details
When the McHenry County Department of Health’s Infectious Diseases Communications team needed to share critical health updates with their community, our team was contracted for graphic and digital design services that could make complex medical information both clear and engaging. Like many state and local public health entities, they faced the challenge of communicating technical details to a broad audience, from healthcare professionals to everyday residents, in a way that was easy to understand and actionable.
Our role was to transform technical medical language into approachable content, supported by thoughtful design and strategic layout. We began with content organization and copywriting support to ensure messages were concise and accessible. Then, we developed a range of visual communication materials including graphic design, custom iconography, whitepapers, digital landing pages, and informational resources tailored to different audience needs.
For each deliverable, we focused on readability, clarity, and visual appeal, ensuring that critical public health messages — particularly those related to infectious diseases — could be quickly understood and remembered. This meant designing materials that worked equally well in digital formats for web and mobile as they did in print for in-person distribution.
The end result was a cohesive set of public health communications tools that improved the department’s ability to educate, engage, and guide the community during important health initiatives. Our work not only made the information more approachable, but also built trust through transparency, accuracy, and professional presentation — critical factors in effective public health outreach.
